Meet Morpheus8: Nilam Answers Your Questions
Whether you're looking to book Morpheus8, or simply want to find out more, I wanted to share some further information on the questions we're asked most regularly here at Dermaspa — in my own words.
We've been offering Morpheus8 at Dermaspa for over 7 years now. In that time I've seen it go from a treatment people were curious but cautious about, to one of the most requested in the clinic — and I still perform a good number of these treatments myself, alongside my sister Amita, who has worked in the clinic for a number of years and carries out the large majority of our Morpheus8 treatments for clients at our Milton Keynes base. Between us, that's a lot of skin we've treated, and a lot of questions we've heard.
What actually is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a radio frequency micro needling treatment. In plain terms: very fine needles create tiny, controlled channels in the skin, while radio frequency energy is delivered through them at the same time, at a depth we control precisely. In essence, what we're doing is creating a controlled, precise trauma to the skin — and it's that response which triggers the body's own repair process, producing new collagen and a firmer, tighter complexion as it heals. The result, over the following weeks, is firmer, smoother, more even-toned skin.

Is it safe?
Yes — and it's a question I'm always happy to talk through properly, rather than give a quick reassurance and move on. Inmode Morpheus8 is a well-established radio frequency micro needling treatment, used in clinics across the industry, and like any treatment that works beneath the surface of the skin, the outcome depends entirely on how it's carried out. You'll occasionally hear opinions within the industry that raise concerns about it — but almost always, when you look closely, that comes down to how it was performed rather than anything inherent to the technology. Depth, energy settings and technique need to be judged client by client, and that comes from experience, not from following a manual. Over 7 years and a genuinely large number of treatments, that experience is what keeps results consistent and safe.
Does it hurt? What does it actually feel like?
We do use topical numbing beforehand. Every client's threshold is different, and as we're breaking the surface of the skin here, that's worth being upfront about — but it's generally very well tolerated, and most describe it as warmth and pressure rather than pain, fading quickly once the treatment's done.
How many sessions will I need, and when will I see results?
Most clients notice a difference within days — skin feels firmer and looks smoother almost immediately, though that's partly swelling settling into a tighter appearance. The real collagen-building results build over the following 4–6 weeks, as your body responds to the treatment, and continue to improve for a couple of months after. Most people have a course of 3 sessions, spaced around 4 weeks apart, though we'll always tailor that to what you're looking to achieve. We'd also recommend a maintenance treatment within 12 months, to help keep those results going.

What's the downtime like?
We provide full aftercare information after every treatment, along with an aftercare kit — including our Puromist spray, to help prevent any contamination of the skin while it's healing. There is some downtime to be aware of: expect redness and a warm, sunburnt feeling for a day or two, and it's important to follow the aftercare properly during that time, since the skin's surface has been broken and needs proper care while it heals. Most clients are comfortable getting back to normal daily activities, just with a little extra care taken.
Who will actually be treating me?
Either myself or Amita. Amita's carried out the large majority of these treatments for our clients here in Milton Keynes, and between us we bring genuinely extensive hands-on experience to every session. We also fully advise a consultation prior to treatment, where we can assess your skin, confirm Morpheus8 is the right treatment for you, and answer any questions you may have.

Is Morpheus8 the only treatment on this platform?
The Inmode platform device also powers Lumecca, an IPL photo facial treatment that's become one of the most popular treatments in the clinic in its own right, particularly for pigmentation, redness and overall skin tone. If you're curious about Lumecca too, it's worth asking about when you come in — some clients end up combining the two as part of a broader skin plan.

So, is it right for me?
If you're looking to firm and smooth the skin, improve tone and texture, and you want that done by people who've genuinely built their experience over years rather than weeks, then yes — this is exactly the kind of treatment, and the kind of clinic, it's right for. We also offer a number of other treatments that can achieve similar results — including ONDA and HIFU Ultraformer — both excellent options for improving skin tone, and tightening and firming the skin. Come in, ask us anything, and we'll talk you through which treatment, or combination, is right for your skin specifically.
